Default Cake day celebration.

It's cake day celebration at my niece's cooking class next week. They'll be baking their very first cake and so they've decided to celebrate the day as 'Cake Day'. To make the class more interesting, her teacher had asked for some suggestion and my niece came up with the idea of tear away posters. Tear away posters, I must say is a good option, but I'm not sure how successful it would turn. What do you guys think? How else can this class be made more fascinating?
